That’s parasailing in Boracay – a gateway to seeing the world from a new perspective.

In this post, I’ll explain everything you need to know about parasailing in Boracay. Let’s get into this exciting adventure from the moment of takeoff to the thrill of flying high above the island.

Parasailing Journey

Why Parasailing in Boracay?

  • Unmatched Views: Parasailing gives you a bird’s-eye view of Boracay’s white sandy beaches and turquoise waters like no other activity can.
  • Thrill Factor: The rush of taking off and the peacefulness of being high in the air is an unmatched combination.
  • Accessibility: Whether solo or with a partner, parasailing in Boracay caters to everyone. It’s an adventure that’s easy to book and enjoy.

Preparing for Your Flight

  • Safety First: Always listen to the briefing from your guide. They’ll equip you with a life vest and ensure you’re securely strapped in.
  • Dress Appropriately: Wear comfortable clothes and secure footwear. Remember, you’re going to be high up in the air.
  • Capture the Moment: If you have an action camera, bring it along. You’ll want to relive this experience.

The Parasailing Journey

The adventure began with a short boat ride. The gentle engine hum and salty air set a peaceful backdrop. Once we got there, the excitement was real!

Secured in a comfortable harness, I could feel the anticipation building as the parachute unfolded behind me. The moment the boat picked up speed, I was gently lifted off the deck and ascended into the sky.

The sensation of the wind picking up and carrying me higher was indescribable. Below me, I could see Boracay’s beautiful view spreading in every direction—bright blue waters, white sandy beaches, and lots of green plants.

Panoramic view

Breathtaking Panoramas

From my vantage point high above, Boracay transformed into a miniature paradise. The famed white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters were even more mesmerizing from this height.

Floating peacefully, I captured panoramic photos that barely did justice to the awe-inspiring views. It was a moment of pure joy, soaking in the island’s beauty from a perspective few get to witness.

Solo or Share the Thrill

One of the best parts of parasailing in Boracay is the flexibility to enjoy it solo or with a companion. I chose to share this thrilling experience with a friend, and it doubled the excitement.

Booking Your Dream Flight

Parasailing activity 1

Where to Find Parasailing Activities

Your adventure begins at Station 1, the heart of Boracay’s main beach. This bustling hub is where excitement meets the sea, with numerous operators ready to take you on a journey above the waves.

Seeing colorful parachutes dotting the sky is enough to excite your heart.

For those who prefer to have everything sorted beforehand, there’s an option to book online. Klook’s Parasailing Experience is a great resource, offering a seamless booking process that ensures your spot is secured before you even step foot on the island.

Planning Your Budget

Budgeting for parasailing is straightforward. Rates typically range from ₱2,000 to ₱2,500 per person for a thrilling 15-minute flight.

If you plan to share this experience with someone special, tandem rides often come at a slight discount, making it a perfect adventure for couples or friends.

An insider tip: visiting during the off-peak season could open up opportunities for negotiation, allowing you to enjoy the same exciting experience at a fraction of the cost.

Pro-Tips for Booking

  • Negotiation is Key: Don’t shy away from politely inquiring about possible discounts, especially during quieter times of the year. Operators are usually more flexible when there are fewer tourists.
  • Confirm Inclusions: Most parasailing packages come with essential inclusions like life jackets and boat transfers to the launch platform. Always confirm these details to avoid surprises [in a not-so-good kind of surprise].

Safety Parasailing

Safety First: Ensuring a Smooth Flight

Before diving into the heart-pounding details of my parasailing adventure, let’s discuss something crucial: safety. It’s the foundation of any great adventure, ensuring the thrill remains a joy, not a danger.

Peace of Mind with Safety Regulations

Parasailing operators in Boracay take safety precautions seriously. From the moment you sign up, you’re in the hands of professionals who adhere to strict safety protocols. They use well-maintained equipment and provide a thorough safety briefing before your flight.

This pre-flight orientation made me feel confident and prepared. Knowing that quality gear and life jackets were provided added an extra layer of reassurance.

Know Your Limits

It’s important to remember that while parasailing is generally a safe activity, it’s not for everyone. If you have health restrictions, such as pregnancy or heart conditions, it’s best to consult a doctor before booking parasailing.

I appreciated this reminder from the operators, as it underscores their commitment to the well-being of every participant.

Gearing Up for Your Flight

Dress for Success: Comfort is Key!

When preparing for parasailing in Boracay, choosing the right outfit is crucial. Here’s what you need to know to make your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible:

  • Opt for Swimwear or Light Clothing: You’ll be taking off and landing on or near the water, so it’s best to wear something that won’t weigh you down if it gets wet. Swimwear is ideal, but if you prefer more coverage, go for light, quick-drying fabrics.
  • Ease of Movement: Your clothing should allow you to move freely. Avoid anything too tight or restrictive, as you must adjust your position and posture during takeoff and landing.

Essential Extras

Essential Extras

To ensure your parasailing experience in Boracay is nothing short of amazing, don’t overlook these essential extras:

  • Sunscreen is a Must: The sun in the Philippines can be intense, especially when high up in the air. Apply a high-SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
  • Capture the Moment: Bring a waterproof camera or a GoPro if the operator allows it. The aerial views of Boracay’s white sand beaches and azure waters are unforgettable, and you’ll want to relive this experience through your photos.

The joy of parasailing in Boracay is an experience that stays with you long after your feet touch the ground.

From the moment the boat speeds up, pulling you gently into the sky, to the peaceful moments of floating above the island, it’s an adventure that combines peace and excitement.

Remember, the key to a memorable parasailing experience lies in preparation. Dress comfortably, protect yourself from the sun, and capture every moment.

With these tips, you’re all set for an incredible journey over one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines.

The Experience: From Takeoff to Touchdown

The real magic began when I was strapped into the harness and lifted off the ground. The feeling of excitement when you’re lifted into the air is impossible to put into words.

Parasailing activity 2

As Boracay’s stunning coastline shrank below me, all my worries melted away, replaced by a sense of freedom and thrill.

The view from above was nothing short of breathtaking. The turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and lush greenery offered a panorama that photos could never do justice to.

And while the flight lasted about 15 minutes, the memories will stay with me forever.

Landing with a Splash

One of the unique aspects of parasailing in Boracay is the option to land directly on the boat or to make a splash in the ocean. I chose the latter, wanting the full experience, and it was the perfect end to an unforgettable adventure.

Parasailing in Boracay is an adventure I’d recommend to anyone looking for a unique way to experience the island’s beauty. The thrill, safety, and breathtaking views make it a must-try activity.

Remember, the key to a great adventure is the thrill and the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re in safe hands. So, strap in, take off, and enjoy the ride of a lifetime above the stunning waters of Boracay.

A World of Water Activities

Parasailing is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the exciting water activities Boracay has to offer.

Water Activities

The world below transformed when I was boosted into the air, suspended by a colorful parachute. The coastline stretched infinitely, blending nature’s finest work and human craftsmanship. But the adventure doesn’t stop there:

  • Jet Skiing: Speeding across the crystal-clear waters, feeling the wind in my hair.
  • Banana Boating: A fun, bumpy ride with us laughing and clinging on for dear life.
  • Helmet Diving: Walking under the sea, surrounded by vibrant coral reefs and curious fish.

Each activity added a layer of excitement to the day, making it unforgettable.

Unveiling Boracay’s Treasures

After the thrill of parasailing in Boracay, it was time to explore the island’s other treasures. Boracay is not just about the adrenaline rush; it’s about the moments that take your breath away in a different manner.

Boracay Treasures

  • Hidden Coves: Places like Puka Shell Beach offer a quieter, more intimate beach experience, away from the crowds.

Parasailing in Boracay was the highlight of my trip, but the combination of thrilling activities, the beautiful spots, and the island’s vibrant culture truly made my experience magical.

Whether you’re soaring above the sea or exploring its depths, Boracay promises an adventure that’s as diverse as it is unforgettable.

So pack your bags and remember to add parasailing in Boracay to your itinerary! Trust me, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

Your Guide to Island Hopping in Mactan

Have you heard about the exciting things to do on Mactan Island but are unsure about trying them out? Did you know that Mactan Island is surrounded by several islets that you can hop on for a day? Well, let me be the bearer of good news and excitement: Yes, it’s true! You can visit these islets by “island hopping” for a day trip. And the experiences? They are even more extraordinary than you can imagine!

I’ve been lucky enough to experience it multiple times before, yet each time feels like a brand new adventure. Seeing the stunning beauty of those islets, I couldn’t help but whisper, “God’s creations are incredibly beautiful!”

The most recent island-hopping we had was in August 2023. You can hold your special occasions like birthdays, barkada gatherings, company team building, family reunions, or even if you simply just want to relax.

Book in Advance

Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of planning! Of course, you’d want to make the most of your island hopping adventure without spending too much. Island hopping usually takes a whole day. Yes! Just a day trip and you can enjoy visiting three islands. So, it’s highly advisable to look for a boat tour operator in advance and plan your itinerary if you do not want any delays. We usually book in advance to avoid hassle.

For first-timers, you can reserve a banca (pump boat) for this adventure. There are trusted local tour operators that specialize in island-hopping adventures in Mactan and offer the best deal packages. They will handle the seamless sail, giving you a hassle-free adventure, just soak up under the sun and enjoy the stunning views.

The jump-off point is either in Hilton Port (Punta Engaño), Angasil Port, Marigondon Port, or Cordova Parola Port. It all comes down to where you rent your boat or which travel agency you choose for your island-hopping adventure.

Where to book?

The local tour operator we contacted was Endez Island Hopping Mactan Cebu via their Facebook page. You might want to consider their service. They have a permit to run their business, and all their boats are registered with the marina and accredited by the Department of Tourism. For the packages, it depends on the size of your group and the size of the boat you are going to rent. We chose their semi-large boat good for 15 pax for ₱4,500 and brought our food.

Budget Tip:  You can cut costs on your Mactan island hopping adventure by bringing your food. This will save you from potentially pricier food options.

To book, just head over to their Facebook page, Endez Island Hopping Mactan Cebu, and drop them a message or contact them directly at PLDT: 349-2220 | Smart: 0947-467-4684 | Globe: 0976-081-9770.

They will require a ₱1,000 downpayment to secure the booking through GCash or pay at any 7/11 branch. Once the downpayment is settled, send them your transaction slip and the names and ages of the guests (required for the passenger manifest, Coast Guard requirements) and they will send you the booking confirmation.

How to get to Mactan?

Since we live in Lapu-Lapu City, we took a multicab and a tricycle to reach Marigondon port. If you’re not from Lapu-Lapu City or Cebu City, you can take a ferry boat, public jeepney (PUJ), taxi, or rent a private van.

The Adventure Begins!

We chose to visit the Nalusuan, Sulpa, and Caohagan Islands. Our jump-off point was at Marigondon Port. We timed it just right and reached the port a good 1 hour before our scheduled departure.

As we got to the port, the boat crew welcomed us warmly with big smiles, showing how excited they were for the day. They were so prepared and quick that it made us feel relaxed, knowing we were in good hands for our island hopping adventure.

At 8 AM sharp, our boat left Marigondon port. After a quick 30-minute ride, we reached our first stop, Nalusuan Island. The guests will be the ones to manage the time on how many hours you want to spend on the island.

The Island We Visited

We started our day with lots of energy, excited to discover the hidden treasures under the sea. Our excitement was palpable especially the kids, all geared up with their life jackets and snorkeling equipment snugly in place, eagerly anticipated the adventure that awaited us.

Nalusuan Island

Our first stop was Nalusuan Island, located between Mactan Island and the province of Bohol. This small coral island is part of the Olango Reef, a marine sanctuary renowned for its vibrant underwater ecosystems. It is a great site for snorkeling, diving, and basking in the sun. The island is adorned with white sand beaches, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for relaxation. This island felt like an aquatic wonderland, and I couldn’t help but be amazed at its beauty. We had a great time snorkeling, kayaking, diving, and swimming.

Sulpa Island

Then we took another 30-minute travel to our next destination, Sulpa Island. This islet is a popular destination for island hopping in Mactan for both locals and international travelers. This is a tiny islet near Barangay San Vicente Olango Island with shallow, rough coral sand and rocky cliffs but surrounded by beautiful scenery. As we approached Sulpa Island, we were greeted by a captivating sight. Sulpa is appealing not just for its beautiful beaches, but also for its peaceful atmosphere. With fewer people around, visitors can fully enjoy the calm vibe and connect with nature, making it ideal for those looking for some quiet time.

Caohagan Island

Our adventure reached its peak as we approached Caohagan [Cawhagan] Island, one of the islands of the Olango group of islands. Situated southwest of Mactan, Caohagan welcomed us with a sight of white sands and clear waters. This island is becoming one of the most-visited attractions in Mactan since it has a wide white powdered beach and a marine sanctuary, where tourists can do underwater diving or snorkeling to the island’s adjacent coral reefs.

Kayak

Picture a sun-kissed day filled with laughter and the joyous shouts of kids as we explore and discover the underwater wonders. It was a great day exploring those islands. Other people hopping between islands also seemed to enjoy the adventure, having fun with their activities on Sulpa, Nalusuan, and Caohagan.

At exactly 3:30 PM, we headed back to the port of Marigondon.

Exploring the rest of the islands like Olango, San Vicente, and Hilutongan is highly recommended. They are equally captivating, offering enchanting experiences like the ones we encountered during our visit.

Pandanon Island: A Quick Glance

Pandanon Island

Consider adding Pandanon Island to your list as well. Even though Pandanon Island is in Bohol province, it’s easy to get to, and lots of boat operators include it in their list of places to visit.

I’ve been to Pandanon Island many times, and every time, its beauty leaves me speechless, like I’m seeing it for the first time.

Abentura Visayan Cruises 1
