How to get to Siquijor from Cebu City?

To get to Siquijor, here are some transportation options: Bus+ Ferry, Ferry, Flight + Ferry
1. Bus + Ferry: 

1.1 Sibulan Route: Take a taxi or jeepney to the South Bus terminal from the Queen City of the South, Cebu. Board a bus bound for Liloan Port in Santander. The trip takes 4-5 hours depending on the traffic. The fare ranges from P150-P200 ($3-$4). 

Upon reaching Liloan Port, purchase a ferry ticket to Sibulan Port. The ferry ride typically takes around 20-30 minutes and costs around P70 to P100 ($1.50-$2). From Sibulan port, you can take a tricycle or taxi to Dumaguete port. Purchase a ticket from several ferry companies that operate on this route.

1.2 Larena Route: Another direct and budget-friendly option is routing straight from Cebu City to Larena, Siquijor. Go to Cebu South Bus Terminal to catch a Ceres Liner bus to Liloan Port in Santander. Bus fare costs around P400. This may take a longer trip, but you will enjoy the views, and it will be worth it. When you’re in Liloan Port, the bus will then hop aboard a ferry (ro-ro vessel) bound for Larena in Siquijor. You will need to pay for your ferry ticket.

2. A direct trip from Cebu City to Siquijor: There are two direct vessels from Cebu City to Siquijor via OceanJet Ferry and Ferry Lite.
a. OceanJet: A fast craft that travels around 5hr and 20 mins from Cebu Pier 1 to Larina, Siquijor port. The fare ranges from P1900- P2020 ($34-$36).
Larina, Siquijor Port to Cebu Port: Daily
Time: 1:00 PM – 5:20 PM approximately 5hr and 20 mins
Larena, Siquijor Port to Cebu Port: Daily
Time: 8:20 AM – 1:10 PM in approximately 4hr 50 mins
b. Lite Ferry 11
This is also a direct trip, but it takes around 10 hrs. The fare ranges from P605-P770 (approximately $11-$14).
Cebu Pier 1 to Larena, Siquijor Port: Saturday, Monday, Wednesday
Time: 1:00 PM to 11 PM approximately 10 hrs
Larena, Siquijor Port to Cebu Port: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday
Time: 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM approximately 7 hrs
 
3. Flight: There’s no direct flight from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Siquijor Airport. Alternatively, you can take a flight from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Sibulan, Dumaguete Airport in approximately an hour.
Fare range: starting from P2,000-P,000 (approximately $38-$90), subject to change depending on the airline, time booking, and season.
 
Upon arrival in Sibulan, Dumaguete Airport, take a tricycle or a taxi to Dumaguete Port. From there, purchase a ticket to Siquijor.

From the port, take a tricycle, known as habal-habal (motorcycle taxi), or a multi-cab (public utility vehicle) to reach your specific destination on the island. Fare range: P20-P300, depending on the distance.

Many rent a motorcycle or scooter to explore Siquijor at their speed. It costs between P300 to P500 per day, depending on what you choose and how long you rent it for. Renting a van is also another option.

Although if you’re renting a hotel or an Airbnb in Dumaguete, you don’t need to rent a place in Siquijor, unless you intend to see all the places and take your time touring around. You may skip this part if you want to explore Siquijor in just a day, like we did and make sure to head back to your hotel or Airbnb unit in Dumaguete on time.   3. Dolce Amore Restaurant: The best restaurant offers, pizza, Italian, Mediterranean, and Ramagna with vegetarian options. Found in Barangay Paliton, San Juan, Siquijor.
  4. Twenty4 Restaurant and Burger Bar: Internation cuisine, vegetarian friendly, and vegan options. Situated on Provincial Road, Barangay Catamboan, Lazi, Siquijor.

3. Cambugahay Falls: A visit to Siquijor is incomplete without experiencing the natural beauty of Cambugahay Falls in the town of Lazi. The three-tiered waterfall features vibrant turquoise pools where visitors can swim and enjoy. Want to try some thrill? Try the famous Tarzan while enjoying the panoramic view of nature and jump into the water. The entrance fee is P20, and to use the rope swings and rubber tubes down at the falls, the cost is an additional 50 pesos for an unlimited.
4. Mount Bandilaan Nature Park: To those nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, a trip to Mt. Bandilaan Nature Park is a must. Located in the center of Siquijor, this park is home to lush forests, diverse wildlife, and the highest peak on the island. Hiking trails lead to a viewing deck where you can enjoy scenic vistas of the island and neighboring islands.
5. San Isidro Labrador Church: Known as the Siquijor Church or Lazi Church, the San Isidro Labrador Church is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the province. Built in the 18th century, it showcases intricate Baroque architecture and houses a museum with religious artifacts and historical items.
6. Siquijor Church (St. Francis of Assisi Church): Just a few minutes away from the port. Siquijor is known for its Spanish colonial architecture and historical significance. This is considered a landmark and the oldest church first to be seen.

7. Tubod Marine Sanctuary: The Island of Siquijor is a haven for divers. Get ready and prepare your gear for an adventure.  These sites are filled with healthy corals and even turtles as well as an array of tropical fish. At deeper depths, the school of barracuda and blue-spotted rays are occasionally seen.

Tubod Beach is found in front of Coco Grove Beach Resort. There’s no entrance fee if you only plan to sit on the beach and relax. However, if you want to go on swimming, you’ll have to pay for P20, snorkeling P50, and P100 for scuba diving. You can also rent snorkeling gear directly from Coco Grove Resort. They also offer scuba diving lessons.

Also, we recommend you explore Apo Island. It is not in Siquijor but if you want to have a lovely and exciting adventure (during your stay in the Philippines), Apo Island is the place to go. 

Balete Tree - Siquijor

After all the activities, if you’re thinking about a place to relax that is close to nature, visit the popular Balete tree and fish spa in Lazi, which is believed to be enchanted.
