El Nido, Palawan, brings to mind stunning white sand beaches, clear waters, and breathtaking limestone cliffs. It’s also known for stunning lagoons and rocky islets. This hidden gem in the Philippines has long been on my travel bucket list. Finally, I took the leap to see its amazing beauty for myself.

When to Visit

Choosing the right time to visit El Nido is crucial to fully enjoy what this tropical haven has to offer. December to May marks the peak season, boasting dry weather and calm seas perfect for exploring the islands and beaches. 

This period is ideal for those who seek the full vibrancy of El Nido, with all its activities in full swing.

As I boarded the plane to Puerto Princesa, a mix of excitement and anticipation bubbled within me. The journey from the airport to El Nido was a mesmerizing transition from urban landscapes to the untouched beauty of Palawan.

Arriving in El Nido was unforgettable. The cozy air, the beautiful colors of the sea and land, and the friendly faces of the locals made me feel like I was in a picture-perfect postcard.

In El Nido, you can paddle on peaceful waters in a kayak, explore colorful coral reefs underwater, or relax on soft sandy beaches. There are so many adventures to discover here!

Accessible only at high tide through a narrow tunnel, the Secret Lagoon is a mystical place that feels like stepping into another world. The sense of discovery as you emerge into this hidden pool is like no other.

The excitement, wonder, and calmness I felt on my journey were very deep and meaningful. It’s a vibrant, living paradise that calls to the adventurer in us all, encouraging us to explore, discover new things, and appreciate its beauty.

Before diving into the heart of El Nido, Palawan, I realized how important it is to prepare well to fully enjoy this enchanting destination:

  • Book Tours and Accommodation in Advance: El Nido is a gem that’s no longer hidden, attracting travelers from across the globe. To ensure a seamless experience, booking tours and accommodations ahead of time is recommended, especially during peak season. This allowed me to secure my spot on must-do tours and find a cozy retreat that felt like a home away from home.
  • Pack Smart: The tropical paradise of El Nido, Palawan, requires more than just swimwear. Equipping myself with reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat proved essential in comfortably navigating the island’s natural beauty. Additionally, waterproof bags became my best friend, protecting my belongings during island-hopping adventures and unexpected rain showers.

El Nido, Palawan is a testament to the beauty of nature and the importance of preservation. Throughout my journey, I became aware of the delicate balance that sustains this paradise:
